Rudy Gay to the Kings!

In a trade involving 7 players, the Kings receive Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray. In exchange, Raprtors acquire John Salmons, Patrick Patterson, Greivis Vásquez and Chuck Hayes.

Rudy Gay has been traded for the second consecutive year. Baltimore’s forward had to pack trying to convince his new city: Sacramento. There, fans expect he reaches the level which placed him among the best forwards in the league. He has averaged 19’5 points, 6’4 rebounds and 2’8 assists per game in his 33 games as a raptor. Maybe he could have achieved better numbers, but the rivalry with DeRozan and the irruption of Terrence Ross have deprived him from reaching those numbers that he hopes to obtain in the Californian city. Kings’ fans will enjoy the game with a new squad with Rudy Gay and Demarcus Cousins as the main stars.

With these acquisitions Kings’ roster seems to be more complete than in the last years. With Vasquez out of the team, the point guard will stay in the hands of Isaiah Thomas, without any doubt, one of the young talents of the league. Marcus Thorton and McLemore will split the minutes at the shooting guard. Rudy Gay will play most of the games as forward, being Travis Outlaw his substitute on the bench. Derrick Williams will occupy the power forward (at least until Jason Thompson returns), while Demarcus Cousins, the leader of the team, will take over the reference on the paint.

If everything curdles quickly, Kings’ fans could dream of the comeback of the team and to reach the playoffs positions this season.
