James achieves the award for the second time this season. Griffin receives it for the first time in his career.

Lebron James and Blake Griffin have been named top players of their conferences. LeBron’s Heat closed the month with a positive balance of 9-1. Among this 9 games (he misses after he suffered a broken nose), King James averaged 30’8 points, 8’1 rebounds and 6’1 assists. We need to add a 57’5 percentage shooting from the field, becoming the second player, since Wilt Chamberlain, in recording these numbers. 

On the Western Conference, Blake Griffin breaks Kevin Durant’s streak and he claims the trophy. The player ended the month with 30 points and 10’7 rebounds per game. His Clippers attained a record of 7 wins and 3 losses that placed them at the 4th position of the Western Conference. His best performance was in the loss against Miami, 43 points 15 rebounds and 6 assists.

A todo esto debemos sumarle el 57’5% de acierto en tiros de campo, convirtiéndose en el segundo jugador de la historia, tras Wilt Chamberlain, en conseguir estos números.

En la Conferencia Oeste Blake Griffin rompe la racha de Kevin Durant y se alzó con el premio. El jugador acabó el mes con 30 puntos y 10’7 rebotes por partido. Among his performances highlights the 24th January magic night, when he scored 62 points. Moreover, he scored 25 or more in 12 of the 16 games he played.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant has achieved his third consecutive trophy as the best player of the Western Conference. During the last month, the player scored 35’9 points per game with an amazing shotting percentage of 55%. Besides, he scored more than 20 points in each of the 16 games he played; 30 or more points 13 times; 40 or more 5 times and more than 50 one time.
