Pau Gasol explodes!

The rifts between the player and the coach increase after the lost against the Pacers.

Lakers, stranded in the last position of the Western Conference, are still a pressure cooker. The differences between the players and the coach are evident. The last row has two names: Pau Gasol and Mike D’Antoni. Spanish center does not agree with his coach’s idea of game, as the majority of the roster, nor with the planning that the franchise is carrying out.

This derives to a stranded Lakers, without a clear course and nearly to burst. I think that the Lakers should plan the roster for the next season regarding the stars that will be free agents next summer.

Pau Gasol estalla contra D'Antoni

Las desavenencias entre el jugador y el entrenador crecen tras la derrota frente a los Pacers.

Los Lakers, hundidos en la última posición de la Conferencia Oeste, continúan siendo un polvorín. Las diferencias entre jugadores y entrenador son evidentes. La última bronca tiene como protagonistas a Pau Gasol y a Mike D’Antoni. El pívot español no está de acuerdo con la idea de juego de su entrenador, como la mayoría del roster, ni con la planificación que la franquicia está llevando a cabo.

Tras la derrota ante Indiana, el español fue muy crítico con el planteamiento de su entrenador “Si quieres jugar con pequeños, al menos tienes que aprovecharlo y jugar más rápido. Pero si te superan por 20 rebotes no va a funcionar hagas lo que hagas. No vas a ganar así” según recoge As.com. Además, Pau dejó claro que existe otro problema al margen del estilo de juego”Hay que ser disciplinados. Tenemos que jugar con disciplina y creo que no hay mucha en el equipo ahora mismo”.

La réplica de D’Antoni no ha tardado: “Es muy fácil dejarlo caer y hablar de tus frustraciones. Sin embargo, no lo entiendo… esas cosas deben quedar en casa. Intentaremos trabajar en otra cosa para encontrar una solución(…) Es molesto ir a la prensa para quejarse. No creo que ese sea el camino a seguir”.

Todo esto deriva en unos Lakers hundidos, sin rumbo fijo y a punto de estallar. Unos Lakers que deberían empezar a planificar la plantilla del año que viene. Unos Lakers que tienen la mirada puesta en las grandes estrellas que serán agentes libres este verano.

Lebron is still the number one!

Lebron returns to the highest position of the race for the MVP. He befalls Durant after weeks leading the classification.

But this is not the only strong performance Lebron had.

Two nights before this game, he scored 42 points in the win over the Dallas Mavericks with an INCREDIBLE 69´6%. And we need to mention that he captured 9 rebounds, he assisted his teammates 6 times and he stole 2 balls. If we look at his two previous games, games in which he scored 37 and 36 points, we’ll see that, in February, Lebron has returned to claim his throne. These are his numbers during this month: 30’8 points, 8’6 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals per game.

If he continues in this line, Lebron would see his name on the top of the list at the end of the season, achieving his 5th MVP award.

¡Lebron recupera el número 1!

Lebron vuelve a situarse en primer lugar en la lucha por ser el jugador más valorado de la temporada. Sucede a Durant tras varias semanas liderando la clasificación.

¡Vuelve Lebron! Y como vuelve…Parece que el alero de los Heat empieza a demostrar que es el auténtico Rey de la liga. 

Curiosamente, su último partido fue frente a Kevin Durant y sus Thunder, encuentro que Lebron tuvo que abandonar tras fracturarse la nariz en una jugada con Serge Ibaka. 33 fueron los minutos que disputó, tiempo en el que consiguió anotar ¡33 puntos! Además, consiguió un ¡acierto del 68’2%! junto con 7 rebotes 3 asistencias y 4 robos. Pero esta no ha sido la única actuación sobresaliente de Lebron.

Dos noches atrás, el alero conseguía anotar 42 puntos a los Dallas Mavericks con un ¡69’6% de acierto! Y a todo esto le sumamos los 9 rebotes, las 6 asistencias y los dos robos. Si nos fijamos en los dos anteriores partidos en los que anoto 37 y 36 puntos, nos daremos cuenta de que en el mes de Febrero Lebron ha vuelto para quedarse en el trono. Estos han sido sus números durante el mes de Febrero: 30’8 puntos por acompañados de 8’6 rebotes, 7 asistencias y 3 robos por partido. 

De seguir en esta dinámica, Lebron volvería a ver su nombre en lo alto de la tabla al final de temporada, y lograr así, su quinto trofeo como mejor jugador de la temporada.

The trade market did not move despite the rumors about Pau Gasol, Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony.

Turner for Granger trade seems to be the most important one. Turner begins to be that player that the NBA was waiting for. The shooting guard is playing his best season since he came to the league.

-Aaron Brooks (Rockets) to the Nuggets. Nuggets receive Jordan Hamilton.

-Nando de Colo (Spurs) to the Raptors. Spurs receive Austin Daye.

-Bobcats acquire Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour from the Bucks. In exchange, Milwaukee receives Ramon Sessions and Jeff Adrien.

-Andre Miller to the Wizards(+ a second round pick 2015). Nuggets receive Vesely.

-Spencer Hawes(76ers) joins the Cavaliers. Philadelphia acquires Earl Clark, Henry Sims and two second rounds picks.

-Miami Heat sends Roger Mason JR to the Kings.

-Marcus Thorton (Kings) moves to the Brooklyn Nets. Nets also acquire Jason Collins. In exchange the Kings receive Jason Terry and Reggie Evans.

-Steve Blake (Lakers) joins Golden State Warriors. In exchange, Lakers receive Bazemore and MarShon Brooks.

Pese a los rumores de Pau Gasol, Anthony y Kevin Love, el mercado de fichajes no se movió mucho.

Quizás, el traspaso con más nombre sea el de Evan Turner (Philadelphia 76ers) por Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers). Turner empieza a ser ese jugador que tanto esperaba la NBA. El escolta está en su mejor temporada de su carrera en la NBA y llega para fortalecer a los Pacers.

76ers sign a boy with Down's Syndrome

Kevin Grow, an adolescent of 18 years with Down’s syndrome, signed a 2 day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Once again sport gives us a lesson. Kevin Grow is a guy from Bensalem High School in Pennsylvania. During the last 4 years, Kevin serves as assistant coach in his college team. But in the last two games, the coach gave him the opportunity to play some minutes. In that time he could show his ability on this sport, scoring 14 points and scoring at the buzzer.

All this was perceived by the 76ers. They decided to fulfill Kevin’s dream with this priceless gesture. The surprise came in the form of a contract, a 2 day contract that allowed the boy to train with Sixers’ players. Moreover, apart from the gifts received, Kevin would be introduced in the game as any other player, in the match against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The NBA shows again this caring side with which it carries happiness to many people all around the world. It is the perfect example to follow and the model, in my opinion, that should be carried out in other major leagues.
